Microsorum Pteropus AKA Java Fern Narrow Leaf is the skinnier cousin of the very common Java Fern. Its sharp and narrow leaves grow out to be only half an inch wide at most. This easy-to-grow beginner plant comes pre-attached to an aquarium-safe fibrous mat and can be used to fill the midground to background of most planted aquariums.Recently reclassified as Leptochilus pteropus, this plant is still widely known in the hobby as Microsorum pteropus. It can grow great in low light conditions and is forgiving in a wide range of water parameters.
The plant can be attached directly onto driftwood, rocks or any aquarium decoration using thread or glue. Make sure to keep the rhizomes above your substrate or the plant can begin to rot. Propagation is easy and straightforward; simply cut or pull apart rhizomes to be replanted/reattached.
