Cryptocoryne Wendtii Brown – WCA

Cryptocoryne wendtii ‘Brown’ is a classic aquarium plant valued for its warm, earthy tones and hardy nature. Its leaves can develop colors ranging from olive-green to bronze and reddish-brown depending on tank conditions. Its care remains similar to other Crypt species while offering a way to introduce color and contrast without the demands of more sensitive plant species.

As it matures, it forms a compact rosette that will eventually produce plantlets that can be left to spread naturally or divided and replanted as needed. A true midground plant, Wendtii Brown creates natural texture and transitions to other zones of a planted aquarium.

It will grow in a range of conditions and while it doesn’t require intense lighting or CO2 injection, supplying it can speed up growth and support long-term health. Like many Cryptocoryne, it is susceptible to Crypt melt and an intial adjustment period after planting. With stable conditions, it typically recovers and once established, is very adaptable.
