Cryptocoryne axelrodi is an easy aquatic plant with narrow, pointed leaves that are a rich green to brown color. It is quite hardy and readily adapts to most water conditions, with its growth adjusting based on parameters. Like most Cryptocoryne, it is ideal for the midground zone in planted aquariums and can be used to break up groups of stem plants or create a subtle transition between various species.
We recommend planting Cryptocoryne in tanks that are fully cycled to reduce shock or introductory melt. Once it roots in soil, it is low-maintenance and will slowly spread through the tank. At this point, baby plantlets can be gently divided and replanted as desired.
Most Cryptocoryne are suitable for low-light planted aquariums, but stronger lighting, CO2 and routine fertilization will encourage faster growth and better color.
