Aponogeton longiplumulosus is an aquatic bulb plant that originates from Madagascar. It offers a bright olive-green color and large, fluted foliage that adds a delicate look to any planted tank. This aquarium plant grows large and tall, so we recommend it for larger tanks or even as a pond plant! When happy, it grows fast and adds lovely swaying motion and plenty of coverage for tropical fish and shrimp.
This is an easy aquatic plant that adapts well to most water conditions. As a bulb plant, it will appreciate a nutritious aquasoil to support healthy growth. To plant aquarium bulbs, bury them partially into your substrate of choice and make sure the sprout tip remains above the surface. If you’re using sand, please ensure you have nutrient root tabs on hand. Be aware that some Aponogeton species go through dormant periods when new growth may slow or stop completely. This doesn’t mean your plant is dead—give it some time (typically a few weeks), and it should reboot if planted in the right conditions.
