Threadfin Acara Cichlid – Emark Tropical Imports

Threadfin Acaras sure do stop a lot of customers in their tracks with that iridescent shine they have! Native to South America, these fish are also called Heckelii or Heckel’s Thread-finned Acara. In the aquarium these large cichlids tend to be peaceful and live well with other large peaceful/semi-aggressive cichlids given enough space. These fish grow to about 8 inches long at and will need roughly 60-70 gallons of swimming space, with larger tanks being required for groups or community setups. All pictures shown are for illustration purposes only.
