Originating from South America, Sagittaria Subulata is an aquarium plant commonly used for aquascaping and planted tanks. Its easy care makes it a great choice for aquascapers who are looking for a capeting aquatic plant for a low tech tank. Its generally hardy and grows well with minimal care requirements. Once it has established good roots, it will need to be regularly pruned to maintain a low, thick appearance. Depending on the aquarium, it has the capability to grow tall and may even send long shoots to the water’s surface with a small white flower bloom.
Dwarf Sag grows by spreading runners horizontally throughout the substrate. It is not a fussy plant in terms of lighting or CO2 injection. Propagation is simple, trim portions of its horizontal shoots and replant into quality aquasoil.
