Rotala Narrow Leaf Red – CPA

Rotala Narrow Leaf Red features narrow leaves with bright reddish hues. A new Glass Aqua favorite for red aquarium plants, this species of Rotala is relatively undemanding and easy to grow. Rotala Narrow Leaf Red’s appearance is similar to Rotala Rotundifolia with slightly longer leaves. The ease in both obtaining and retaining bright, bold red colors with Rotala Narrow Leaf Red quickly makes it a favorite.

We recommend providing standard care for Rotala species, and then some. High quality, nutritious aquarium soil, good LED lighting, CO2 injection and regular fertilizing are a great start for obtaining bushy, vibrant growth. Rotala Narrow Leaf Red would work beautifully in Dutch style planted aquariums or as a simple red aquarium plant accent in the background of nature aquariums. Propagation is the same as other Rotala species and aquatic stem plants in general. Snip along the stem and replant into the soil. Rotala are quick growing species and will require consistent pruning to prevent overgrowth and the shading of lower portions.
