FAQ

Will fish eat Rili Red Shrimp?
Yes — most fish will prey on dwarf shrimp. Keep them with small, peaceful species or in a dedicated shrimp tank with plenty of hiding spots like moss and plants.

Are they safe with copper-based medications?
No. Neocaridina shrimp are highly sensitive to copper. Always check medication and fertilizer labels before dosing a tank with shrimp.

How many Rili Red Shrimp should I keep?
Start with at least 6–10 to establish a comfortable colony. They are social animals and thrive in groups. A 10-gallon tank can comfortably support 30–50 shrimp.

Will they breed in my tank?
Yes — Neocaridina shrimp breed readily in stable, well-maintained tanks. Females carry eggs for about 30 days before releasing fully formed shrimplets. No special setup is needed.
