Red Sea’s NO3:PO4-X (NOPOX) is a complex carbon-source nutrient reducer that fuels naturally-occurring denitrifying and phosphate-accumulating bacteria to safely lower nitrate and phosphate levels in reef aquariums. Ideal for reefers battling algae blooms caused by elevated nutrients, NOPOX is dosed daily and works alongside a protein skimmer to export excess organics without crashing beneficial biology.

FAQ

How much do I dose?
Start at 2 mL per 100 L (25 gal) of actual system water volume, once daily. For SPS-dominant tanks, begin at 1 mL per 100 L. Test nitrate and phosphate regularly and adjust based on Red Sea’s dosing guide. Never exceed the maximum recommended dose.

Is NOPOX reef safe?
Yes, when used as directed. Overdosing can cause a bacterial bloom, cloudy water, or a sudden drop in nutrients that stresses corals. Always ramp up slowly and run a protein skimmer.

Can I use this in a freshwater tank?
No. NOPOX is formulated for saltwater reef and marine aquariums only.

How long will a 1000 mL bottle last?
At 2 mL per 100 L daily on a 300 L (75 gal) tank, a 1000 mL bottle lasts roughly 165 days. Heavily-stocked systems dosing the maximum rate will go through it faster.
