Pom Pom Crab – TSA Inverts

Pom Pom Crabs are small, colorful crustaceans that add a unique touch to reef aquariums. These tiny crabs share a commensal relationship with a variety of small sea anemone species, which they carry with them throughout their life. Pom Pom crabs will use these small anemones to gather particulate food suspended in the water column and from their surroundings, feeding directly from the anemone’s tentacles. In addition, the Pom Pom crab’s anemones serve as a method of defense, dissuading would-be predators. These crabs tend to thrive in smaller systems with plenty of hiding space in the rockwork.
