Microbe-Lift Bloom & Grow Nitrogen is a liquid supplement specially formulated to promote healthy and robust plant growth. Regular dosing with this supplement helps prevent nitrogen deficiency, a common issue that can stunt plant growth and cause yellowing leaves. This is crucial in tanks where plants are large and plentiful, and/or livestock levels are low.
Microbe-Lift Bloom & Grow Nitrogen is designed to accelerate the growth of aquatic plants without promoting unwanted algae growth, thanks to its phosphate-free formula. It’s easy to use and highly effective, making it an essential part of your aquarium care routine. For optimal results, use in conjunction with other BLOOM & GROW™ plant supplements.
Key Benefits
- Enhances Plant Growth:Promotes lush, healthy plants by addressing nitrogen deficiencies.
- Easy to Use:Simple liquid formula for convenient dosing.
- Phosphate-Free:Supports plant health without encouraging algae growth.
Nitrogen deficiency in aquatic plants is a common issue that can lead to several noticeable symptoms. Here’s what to look for:
- Yellowing of Leaves (Chlorosis):
- The most common sign is the yellowing of older leaves, typically starting at the tips and edges. This happens because nitrogen is a mobile nutrient, so the plant transfers it from older to newer leaves when it’s deficient.
- The overall growth of the plant slows down. New leaves may appear smaller and fewer in number, and the plant may seem less vigorous.
- Leaves may turn pale green to almost transparent. This is particularly noticeable in faster-growing plants that require more nitrogen.
- In more severe cases, older leaves may die off and detach from the plant entirely, leaving the plant looking sparse.
- Some plants might show red or pink discoloration, especially in the veins of older leaves.
- Nitrogen-deficient plants may also exhibit weaker root systems, which can affect the plant’s overall stability and nutrient uptake.
Dosing Instructions
Use 1/2 tsp. (2.5 mL) per 40 gal. (151 L) twice a week or as needed, when signs of no growth such as chlorosis. This dose raises nitrogen by the same amount as 1.0 mg/L nitrate.
