Take control of your water quality and stop nuisance algae in its tracks withNyos Phosi-Ex. This professional-grade, high-performance filter media is a moist, iron-based (GFO) adsorber specifically engineered to permanently pull dissolved phosphates (PO_4) and silicates (SiO_2) out of your marine or freshwater system.
By aggressively targeting the primary food sources of hair algae, film algae, and diatoms, Phosi-Ex helps you maintain a pristine, crystal-clear aquarium where your corals and fish can truly thrive.
Key Benefits of Nyos Phosi-Ex
-
Dual-Action Nutrient Removal:Simultaneously binds inorganic phosphate and silicate, rapidly lowering nutrient levels to pristine reef parameters while starving out unwanted algae plagues.
-
Premium Iron-Based Matrix (GFO):Unlike lower-quality aluminum-based media, Phosi-Ex is completely iron-based. It will not release aluminum or other harmful trace substances back into your water column, making it 100% safe for sensitive corals, clams, and invertebrates.
-
Zero Impact on pH:Many aggressive phosphate binders cause sudden drops or fluctuations in alkalinity and pH. Phosi-Ex binds nutrients smoothly and securely without altering your water chemistry balance.
-
Moist-Pack Optimization:Packaged moist to maximize active surface binding capacity straight out of the jar, ensuring immediate, highly efficient adsorption the moment it hits your filtration system.
Suggested Use & Dosing Guide
For the best results, place Phosi-Ex in a high-flow area of your sump, a dedicated media reactor (such as theNyos TORQ), or a fine-mesh media bag.
-
Standard Dosage:Use150 – 200 mlof Phosi-Ex per125 gallons (500 L)of aquarium water.
-
Total Capacity:A single 1000ml jar can effectively treat between250 to 500 gallonsof saltwater with a starting baseline of 0.5 mg/L (ppm) of phosphate.
Pro Tip for Reefers:When using iron-based media like Phosi-Ex, do not over-fluidize it in a reactor. Adjust your flow valve until the surface of the media is just gently tumbling or “simmering.” Hard, aggressive tumbling can cause the granules to grind against each other, creating fine dust that can escape into the display tank.
