Aquascaping Uses
• Create bold centerpieces or root-style layouts
• Combine with Seiryu Stone, Ohko Stone, Manten Stone, or river stones
• Build natural biotope-style aquascapes
• Attach mosses and epiphyte plants for vertical depth
• Provide hiding and resting areas for fish and shrimp
Care Instructions (Hardscape Care)
• Rinse thoroughly before placing in aquarium
• Soak for 1-2 weeks to reduce natural tannin release
• Perform regular water changes during initial use
• Light biofilm may appear-this is normal and shrimp-safe
• Gently scrub if desired; biofilm usually disappears on its own
• Requires no lighting, fertilizers, or CO₂
• Safe for permanent, long-term aquarium use
Preparation & Use
Before use, rinse the driftwood thoroughly. Soaking is recommended to help reduce tannins that may temporarily tint aquarium water a tea-like color. Tannins are natural, harmless, and often beneficial for freshwater fish.
Once soaked, place directly into the aquarium or incorporate into hardscape layouts. Driftwood can be positioned over stones, partially buried in substrate, or used as a base for plant attachments.
