Utsuri – (oot-sir-ee) : Two-color Koi, one of the colors is always black. The black appears as bands around the body, black on some portion of the pectoral fins is desirable. Shiro Utsuri (she-ro oot-sir-ee) are black and white. Gin Shiro Utsuri (kin sheer-oh oot-sir-ee) are the metallic version of Shiro Utsuri. Hi Utsuri (he-oot-sir-ee) are red and black. Ki Utsuri (key-oot-sir-ee) are yellow and black. Kin Ki Utsuri (kin key oot-sir-ee) are metallic golden, yellow, or copper colored and black.
All of our koi are hand-picked in Japan and brought back to the US. We choose from the best breeders and offer a wide variety that include every variety we can get our hands on. All of the koi are quarantined for a minimum of 4 weeks, during that time we perform slime coat swipes and various other tests to check for any parasites/illnesses and medicate as necessary.
