Neon Blue Rasbora

Neon Blue Rasbora(Sundadanio goblinus) is one of the most intensely blue nano fish available — the body displays an almost electric blue iridescence that, in a properly lit blackwater setup, appears to glow from within. One of three closely related species in the Sundadanio genus (with the Cardinal and Neon Red Rasboras), all sharing the same peat swamp origins and blackwater requirements.

Feeding & Care Tip:Hikari Micro Pellets(crushed or soaked briefly) andSera Vipan Babymake excellent daily staples. Supplement 2–3× per week withHikari Frozen or Freeze-Dried Baby Brine ShrimpandHikari Frozen Daphnia. Feed small amounts 2–3 times daily.

Native to the blackwater peat swamp forests of Borneo and surrounding Southeast Asian islands. The namegoblinus— meaning ‘goblin’ — was given to this mysterious, rarely-seen dweller of dark peat swamp waters. Extremely soft, acidic, tannin-stained water is the natural habitat.

Keep in groups of at least 10 in a blackwater nano setup. The electric blue iridescence is most vivid in well-conditioned fish in soft, acidic water with tannin additions and a dark substrate. Any larger fish will stress them.

The three Sundadanio species — Blue, Red, and Cardinal — can be mixed in a single blackwater nano aquarium for a spectacular three-species display, all sharing identical care requirements.
