Precision Calibration for Aquarium Testing

TheATI® Multi Standardis a high-precision seawater reference solution designed to verify the accuracy of your home testing equipment. Whether you are using titration test kits or electronic measurement devices, this solution provides a stable, laboratory-certified benchmark. By comparing your results against known concentrations, you can identify “offset” values or confirm that your equipment is functioning correctly, ensuring the long-term stability of your reef aquarium.

Why Use a Multi Standard?

Testing accuracy is the foundation of successful reef keeping. Over time, reagents can degrade, refractometers can drift, and electrodes can lose calibration.

  • Validation:Confirm if your Alkalinity, Calcium, or Magnesium test kits are providing true readings.

  • Calibration:Adjust refractometers, hydrometers, and conductivity meters to a perfect 35 PSU standard.

  • Based on Absolute Ocean:This solution is formulated from ATI® Absolute Ocean, which perfectly replicates natural seawater, ensuring the chemical behavior of the reference matches your aquarium water.

  • Laboratory Certified:Every batch undergoes strict quality control at the ATI® laboratory in Germany to guarantee the listed values.

Reference Values (Certified Targets)

The ATI® Multi Standard contains fixed, precise concentrations of the most critical seawater parameters:

Parameter Reference Value
Salinity 35 PSU
Alkalinity (Carbonate Hardness) 7.5 °dKH
Calcium (Ca) 421 mg/l (ppm)
Magnesium (Mg) 1,313 mg/l (ppm)
Potassium (K) 408 mg/l (ppm)
Strontium (Sr) 8.1 mg/l (ppm)

Usage Instructions

  1. Preparation:Ensure your test vials and equipment are clean and dry before use to prevent cross-contamination.

  2. Testing:Perform your measurement exactly as you would with aquarium water, but use the ATI® Multi Standard instead.

  3. Comparison:Compare your result to the values listed above. If your test kit reads 8.5 dKH but the standard is 7.5 dKH, you know your kit has a +1.0 dKH offset.

  4. Storage:Close the bottle immediately after useto prevent evaporation, which would increase the concentration and invalidate the reference values.
