Pre-treatment Required

Natural coral wood contains tannins. Before using it in the aquarium, it is recommended that you follow the instructions for pre-treatment, including boiling and soaking, or adding purigen to the filter until the tannins are completely released.

Usage Tips

Note:

1. Each coral driftwood is unique; what you get may be different from what is shown in the pictures.
2. Sizes are manual measurements with a 1-2cm error.

Pre-treated before the wood is placed in the water:

1. Start by soaking the driftwood in water with soda and salt, then bring it to a boil for at least 1 hour. Notice the tannins being released, and the color is darkening.
2. Change the water and boil it again for 3–5 times, then soak the driftwood in water, changing the water once a day. In general, the tannins can be removed entirely within a week.
3. You may purchase protein cotton for your aquarium filter. Place the protein cotton into the filter bucket and turn it on to release the tannins quickly until the water doesn’t turn yellow.
