Green Jade Shrimp feature, as their name suggests, a mix of green tones that can carry hints of yellow, blue, or black depending on the individual shrimplet. They’re a unique addition to any planted aquarium and will happily forage throughout the tank all day. While their algae consumption isn’t as strong as Amano Shrimp, they breed easily, and large numbers grazing together can help clean obscure areas that are otherwise hard to reach.
Like other Neocaridina shrimp, they are adaptable but can be sensitive to sudden changes. We recommend adding them to established setups. They prefer tropical temperatures and slightly soft water. As with any planted aquarium, a good filter is essential for maintaining water quality. Depending on what type of filter you have, consider getting an intake sponge or guard to prevent shrimplets from getting sucked up into the filter. (We’ve found entire colonies living in ours!)
Tank size recommendation:5-10G
Shrimp are extremely sensitive to copper. If using tap, be sure to use a dechlorinator to ensure safety for your invertebrates.
Green Jades are peaceful. Keep them in an aquarium with non-agressive tank mates to ensure their safety.
