Eleocharis acicularis, commonly known as dwarf hairgrass, is a popular aquatic plant found worldwide, including in Germany’s shallow waters and pond banks. Ideal for both aquariums and garden ponds, this hardy plant has been a favorite among aquarists for years due to its adaptability and ease of care.
Dwarf hairgrass thrives in various conditions, though it prefers open spaces without shading from other plants. Once planted, its roots begin to spread, forming a lush carpet that reaches heights of 2 to 6 inches. If the growth becomes too tall, you can easily trim it back to maintain your desired height. Transform your aquatic landscape with Eleocharis acicularis for a stunning, low-maintenance display!
