Overview

ECC Yellow Polyps are a hardy soft coral that’s great for beginners. The long, bright tentacles move with the current and can grow quickly once established. They adapt well to different lighting and don’t require any special feeding. Keep them on their own rock if you want to prevent them from spreading too much.

Ideal Tank Placement

This coral can be placed in just about any area of the aquarium as it can adapt to various conditions.

Water Flow Requirements

Moderate flow is ideal to keep detritus from accumulating on and around the polyps. Too much flow may cause them to close.

Give Yellow Polyps room to grow. While they aren’t overly aggressive,

Feeding and Nutrition

Primarily photosynthetic, Yellow Polyps can thrive on light alone.

Growth Rate and Pattern

Once settled in, Yellow Polyps will spread quickly. If you don’t want them taking over your rockwork, try placing them on their own rock island to contain their growth to an area that’s easy to keep at bay.

Acclimation Process

Acclimation is essential for corals to adjust to their new environment. For a full step-by-step process, refer to our Coral Acclimation Guide.
