Live sand is a great choice for new reef tank setups as it clears quickly and contain millions of live bacteria, speeding up your tank’s cycle. Bahamas Oolite sand is one of the most attractive substrates available for saltwater aquariums, but due to its small grain size, it can get blown around more easily and should only be used in aquariums with lower amounts of flow.
