Anubias Giant Stardust

Anubias Giant Stardustis a spectacular large-form Anubias cultivar featuring dramatic white speckles and variegated markings scattered across its broad leaves like stars in a night sky — giving this plant its evocative name. Growing to 8 to 12 inches, the bold leaf size means the stardust patterning creates maximum visual impact. The chart describes it as a striking focal plant when grown on large driftwood pieces — a description that perfectly captures its role in the aquascape.

Planting tip:Never bury the rhizome in substrate — Anubias Giant Stardust should always be attached to driftwood, rock, or other hardscape with the rhizome fully exposed. Use cotton thread or aquarium-safe adhesive to secure it, and the plant will anchor itself naturally over time.

Despite its premium appearance, Anubias Giant Stardust requires no more care than any other Anubias. Low to moderate lighting and no CO₂ supplementation keep it healthy and growing. Temperatures between 72 and 82°F and a pH of 6.0 to 7.5 provide ideal conditions. Regular liquid fertilization supports the production of new, boldly patterned leaves.

The rhizome of Anubias Giant Stardust must remain above the substrate at all times and should be attached to large driftwood or prominent rocks where both the size and the patterning can be fully displayed. Thread or aquarium adhesive secure the rhizome effectively until the plant establishes its own root attachment.

In the aquascape, Anubias Giant Stardust is most effective as a statement plant — a single specimen on a feature piece of large driftwood draws the eye immediately and anchors the entire composition. Its large, patterned leaves contrast beautifully with fine-textured plants and mosses. In larger aquariums, a group of two or three specimens creates a dramatic cluster that defines the background zone with authority. One of the most memorable plants in the hobby.
