Anubias barteri var. caladiifolia is the largest variety of Anubias barteri, known for its impressive size and heart-shaped leaves. The leaf blades can grow up to 9.4 inches long, narrowing from oval to wide, and as the plant matures, the bases become distinctly heart-shaped. The leaf stalks can reach lengths of over 15.7 inches, with smooth or slightly undulating margins, adding an elegant touch to any aquascape.
Originating from an Australian tissue propagation laboratory, Anubias barteri var. caladiifolia is a slow-growing but long-lived plant, with leaves that can last for several years. Despite its slow growth, it can form large, beautiful groups over time, often reaching widths of more than 19.7 inches in just a few years. This variety makes a stunning addition to aquariums, offering both beauty and durability.
